Tere (hello), this is the story of my journey to get and enjoy the e-residency from the free and independent nation of the Republic of Estonia (Eesti Vabariik).
2: My Motivation for e-residency
Dear Reader,
I have had the fortunate circumstance of being able to travel and live in different parts of the world. Whether the midwest, west coast, east coast, or Rome. Seeing 6 countries in Europe. Or 3 continents in 1 season. I have ventured far & wide, and of course, I wish to do more.
I have decided since my Junior year of college some time ago that I must become a business owner in some capacity. Then along came a book by Tim Ferris called the “4hr. work week”, and I thought this is a man with an enviable life that I would enjoy emulating. Thankfully emulating means to “surpass” as well or I would have had to choose a different word. Hearing him go on about the New Rich (NR) and how they have used technology to do so has fascinated me. Where you can live any lifestyle you want/afford to, do to the convenience of innovation and tech skills.
Lucky for me it has been some time since the writing of that book and my aspirations. Giving me the advantage of the progression of time and technology. Helping to mature the idea of people not being chained to their 9–5 desks has opened up my life to grander possibilities. 1 of those possibilities being the beautiful land of Estonia and the e-residency that they offer. An offer for those that are willing to chase their dreams.
There are a number of other reasons that I am choosing such a life-altering decision, but unfortunately dear reader, we just don’t have that much rapport yet.
So now you know to, that I am currently in the process of getting my business started and having Estonia be a central part of that. Granted the plans I have will probably change, but I feel it is better to have goals then move forward without them. I paid to get in and access the EU market through this innovative country and this idea will come to fruition.
I hope you find this encouraging for you to change your path and maybe I’ll see you in Tallinn.
